How is interpreting priced?
Both consecutive and simultaneous interpreting are billed in three-hour blocks, with the final quote depending on session length, language requirements and location (travel fees apply outside Taichung). Email your event details, date, location and language needs for a quote. Rye Lin personally covers Mandarin, English, Cantonese and Taiwanese; Japanese, French and Korean are provided through long-term collaborating interpreters. Other languages are also welcome to discuss.
What’s the difference between consecutive and simultaneous interpreting?
In consecutive interpreting, the speaker pauses and the interpreter renders each segment — suited to panels, press conferences and guided tours. Simultaneous interpreting happens in real time alongside the speaker and requires equipment (headsets, a soundproof booth), suited to large forums or multilingual conferences. Simultaneous interpreting requires two interpreters working in rotation, so it’s typically priced at double the consecutive rate, plus equipment rental.
How far in advance should I book?

Do you work outside Taichung?
Yes, service is available island-wide. No extra travel fee applies within Taichung.
