Rye Lin completed her first translation project in the summer of 2015 — a literature/photobook written and produced by a Taiwanese photographer. That experience marked the beginning of her journey as a translator.
In the final year of her university studies, she was selected to participate in an exchange programme and spent a semester at the Australian National University. After that, she went on to work at a law firm in Sydney (as a working holiday maker), where she served as both a translator and an education and immigration consultant.
After graduating from National Taiwan Normal University, Rye Lin spent most of her time working across Taipei, Taichung, Sydney, and Hong Kong. She is now a freelance translator and interpreter specialising in arts, culture, architecture, and marketing campaigns. Working across English, Mandarin, Taiwanese, and Cantonese, she also leads a team that includes exceptional Japanese and Korean translators and interpreters based around the country.
Driven by her personal interests, Rye Lin primarily collaborates with clients in the arts sector, including Art Taipei, National Taiwan University of Arts, Ink Global (Hong Kong), as well as numerous curators, artists, critics, and galleries both locally and internationally. Beyond the arts, she also provides translation and interpreting services for a wide range of industries—such as technology, finance, machinery, construction, and skincare—with clients including Garmin and Ever Rich Duty-Free Shops. Her clientele also includes prestigious institutions like National Taiwan University and National Taiwan University of Arts.
